Samsung Galaxy S25 series FCC listing drops some bad news

Samsung Galaxy S25 series was recently spotted on the FCC certification database. FCC is a US authority, which regulates interstate and international communications through cable, radio, television, satellite and wire.

91mobiles spotted the Samsung Galaxy S25 series on the FCC certification website. Unsurprisingly, the revelation brings bad news for potential Galaxy S25 buyers. The company is skipping two key features in the S25 line’s vanilla model.

Galaxy S25 won’t get UWB, wired, wireless charging

The FCC revealed that the vanilla Galaxy S25 will not feature UWB (ultra-wide-band). UWB is a rapidly growing communication technology in the smartphone market.

It’s typically used for precise location tracking and enhanced connectivity features. In addition, the Galaxy S25 will continue to feature 25W fast charging, which isn’t fast though.

It doesn’t come as a disappointing development as we’ve seen evidence in the past, confirming the lack of 45W charging on the upcoming Galaxy S25.

Meanwhile, there’s a downgrade likely in the wireless charging speed. Unlike the Galaxy S24’s 15W wireless charging, the Galaxy S25 apparently supports 9W wireless charging.

Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra

The certification solidifies the existence of UWB and 45W charging support on the S25+ and S25 Ultra. Unlike the S25, both other models of the lineup will have an advantage in terms of communication technology and charging speed.

The last year’s lineup had the same UWB and charging configuration. The S24 lacks UWB and 45W charging support, while the S24 Plus and S24 Ultra offer. It seems these upgrades are reserved for the Galaxy S26 or so.

Other details from the FCC

FCC certification also revealed some key specs of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra, such as:

  • 5G
  • Dual-band WiFi
  • Bluetooth
  • GNSS
  • NFC
  • S-Pen (produced by Wacom) – S25 Ultra only

Samsung’s 45W charging

This year, Samsung brought 45W charging support to the Galaxy C55/M55/F55 smartphone. It’s rumored that the Galaxy A56 5G, which will launch in the first half of next year, will also support up to 45W fast charging.

Practically, it’s not a significant upgrade in terms of time required for battery charging. However, it’s indeed faster than the company’s favorite 25W charging speed. Well, you won’t get 45W adapter with the retail box, it would be purchased separately.
