Royal Enfield Scram 440 is powered by an updated 443 cc SOHC air-cooled engine now producing 25.4 bhp maximum power and 34 Nm of peak torque
Royal Enfield has today unveiled the Scram 440 at the opening day of the Motoverse 2024 festival in Vagator, Goa. The updated motorcycle gets a host of revisions and it will be available on sale soon. Expect a minor price hike compared to the outgoing Scram 411. Aesthetically, the 2025 RE Scram 440 remains similar to its predecessor but there are quite a few mechanical changes.
Besides the increase in power and torque, the new LS440 engine has now been tuned to deliver higher fuel economy and reduced vibrations at highway cruising speeds. Royal Enfield has added a sixth gear and increased the final gear ratio for improved traction. There is a new pull-type clutch with enhanced durability and a 0.75 kg reduction in lever effect.
The long-stroke engine sees a 3 mm bore increase with the engine’s cubic capacity now going up to 443 cc. It now produces a 4.5 per cent increased power of 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 6.5 per cent higher torque at 34 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The Scram 400 has witnessed more improvements in the form of a higher payload capacity of 179 kg with top box compatibility and the ground clearance stands at 200 mm.

The Royal Enfield Scram 440 offers a seat height of 795 mm appealing to a wider band of customers and it rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless alloy wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres (100/90 front and 120/90 rear) while wire-spoked wheels with tubed tyres are also available. The equipment list has been updated with the inclusion of an LED headlamp and a switchable ABS system.
The motorcycle sits on a half-duplex split cradle frame, the same as the old Himalayan 411 and is suspended on 41 mm telescopic front forks with 190 mm travel and a link-type monoshock rear suspension with 180 mm travel. It tips the weighing scale at 196 kg and boasts a wheelbase of 1,460 mm and an overall length of 2,165 mm.

The tank can hold 15 litres of fuel while a USB Type-A charging port, and a semi-digital instrument console with an optional tripper navigation system are also offered. The braking duties are handled by a 300 mm hydraulic disc at the front and a 240 mm hydraulic disc at the rear, supported by a dual-channel ABS system.
