Boasting an estimated 501 horsepower generated by dual electric motors, the Kia EV9 GT can sprint from 0 to 96 kmph in just 4.3 seconds
Kia has pulled back the curtain on the new EV9 GT, its most powerful three-row SUV to date, at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Boasting an estimated 501 horsepower generated by dual electric motors on the front and rear axles, the EV9 GT can sprint from 0 to 96 kmph in a blistering 4.3 seconds. For the first time in a Kia SUV, the EV9 GT features an electronically controlled suspension.
The system adjusts shock damping based on selected drive modes or through a GT-specific button on the steering wheel, optimising the ride for comfort or performance. Equipped with a 160 kW motor at the front and a 270 kW motor at the rear, the Kia EV9 GT delivers a substantial boost over the EV9 GT-Line’s 379 horsepower. The flagship SUV also comes with upgraded brakes with neon green GT-badged callipers.
Four distinct drive modes – Normal, Eco, Sport, and My Drive – allow for tailored steering, braking, and suspension settings as well. Adding to the updates is the Virtual Gear Shift (VGS), simulating traditional gear shifts for added engagement. The paddles on the steering wheel allow manual gear selection while Active Sound Design enhances the auditory sensation of acceleration.

Stability during cornering is managed by an electronic Limited Slip Differential which distributes torque to maintain grip on uneven surfaces. The EV9 GT stands apart with unique styling cues such as its neon-accented 21-inch alloy wheels and high-performance tyres. Inside, the SUV features Alcantara-trimmed sport seats with bright green accents, a GT-exclusive steering wheel and distinctive dashboard trims.
Passengers will enjoy a tailored ambient lighting scheme while the driver benefits from advanced displays offering unique GT graphics. The EV9 GT comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Parking Collision Avoidance systems. A 360-degree camera, Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Remote Smart Parking Assist further enhance the overall safety.

Expected to hit the global market in late 2025, pricing details will be announced closer to its launch. Only a few months ago, the fully loaded EV9 GT-Line AWD trim was launched in India for a price of Rs. 1.3 crore (ex-showroom).
