Hyundai Creta EV will be introduced in January 2025 and it could be sold with single and dual electric motor configurations
Hyundai’s Creta EV, frequently spotted during testing on Indian roads, is expected to debut at the Auto Expo 2025 in Delhi. Positioned as a midsize electric SUV, it will compete fiercely in an increasingly crowded segment, taking on rivals like the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV400, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e Vitara along with its Toyota counterpart.
The brand has sent us an invitation for the media drive of an upcoming Hyundai vehicle in Chennai. It will likely be the electrified Creta judging by the invite release, scheduled between January 11 and 15, 2025. We expect the e-SUV to be unveiled around the same time before making its first public appearance and possible price reveal at the Auto Expo.
Spy pictures of the Hyundai Creta EV reveal a host of design refinements including revamped front and rear bumpers, a closed-off grille for improved aerodynamics and new 18-inch aero-style wheels. While the LED headlamps and tail lamps maintain the signature aesthetics of the standard Creta, the electric variant’s subtle updates give it a more streamlined and modern look.

The Hyundai Creta EV’s interior is expected to mirror its ICE sibling’s, retaining a comparable design and an array of familiar features. However, to accommodate the battery pack and other electric components, the K2 platform will undergo modifications. These changes might result in marginally increased overall dimensions, offering enhanced cabin space and practicality.
It is set to stay put with a twin-screen configuration, comprising a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and a similar-sized digital instrument cluster. Its uniquely designed steering wheel and column-mounted drive mode selector add to the EV-specific appeal. Packed with advanced features, the cabin will include six airbags as standard, Level 2 ADAS for enhanced safety, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera system, etc.

The Hyundai Creta EV will likely be offered with both single and dual-motor setups, targeting a range of over 450 km on a single charge. While DC fast charging will be available, the inclusion of Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Vehicle tech remains unconfirmed. The electric motor could potentially draw inspiration from the entry-level Kona Electric.
