Former Bigg Boss 18 contestant and popular television actress Naira Banerjee has finally broken her silence on her unexpected eviction from the controversial reality show. In a candid interview, Naira expressed her disappointment, claiming her eviction was unjust and that the show’s makers didn’t give her enough screen time to showcase her true journey.
“I Was Shocked by My Eviction”: Naira
Naira’s journey on Bigg Boss came to an abrupt end in October, leaving fans and the actress herself shocked. Speaking about her experience, she said, “When I came out, I was surprised to see how little I was shown on television. I couldn’t understand why this happened. It felt unfair.”
She added that while she was actively participating in house activities and mingling with other contestants, none of her lighthearted moments were aired. “I was constantly interacting with everyone in the house, playing games, singing, dancing, and having fun. But none of that was shown. It’s like the makers didn’t want the audience to see that side of me,” she shared.
What Viewers Don’t See
In her interview with Filmigyaan, Naira revealed that many wholesome and entertaining moments from the house are left out of the final edit. “We used to play antakshari, dumb charades, and other games. There was so much laughter and joy, but none of it made it to the screen. I now realize that Bigg Boss is not about showcasing fun moments but about focusing on fights and controversies.”
Naira explained that contestants who were loud and argumentative were given more airtime. “People who raised their voices or got into arguments were shown more. That’s the format of the show, and it’s fine. But even during live telecasts, I was barely visible. That was disappointing.”
“If I Knew, I Would’ve Played Differently”
Reflecting on her strategy, Naira admitted that she might have approached the game differently if she had understood the format better. “Had I known this, I wouldn’t have wasted my time having fun. I would have focused on creating drama and getting into fights because that’s what the makers highlight,” she said with a hint of frustration.
Naira also revealed the emotional toll her eviction took on her. “When I realized that I wasn’t given a fair chance, it hurt deeply. I cried a lot after coming out. It felt like all my efforts went unnoticed,” she confessed.
A Harsh Reality of Reality TV
Naira’s revelations have once again sparked discussions about the selective editing and storytelling in reality shows like Bigg Boss. While the show thrives on drama and controversies, contestants like Naira, who focus on positivity and camaraderie, often feel sidelined.
As Naira moves on from this chapter, her journey serves as a reminder of the unseen struggles behind the glitz and glamour of reality TV. For fans, it’s a bittersweet realization that they might not always get to see the full story.
