The Classic 650 is the sixth model from the 650 cc lineup of Royal Enfield for the Indian and global markets
EICMA 2024 has kickstarted in Milan, Italy and Royal Enfield, with all guns blazing, unveiled its first-ever electric motorcycle last night. We earlier told you that the Chennai-based bike manufacturer will also unveil two more motorcycles at the event namely the Himalayan 450 Rally and the all-new Classic 650. Now, both these RE bikes have been leaked ahead of their official debut. Though the Himalayan 450 Rally is just an accessorized variant, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 is an all-new motorcycle having its world premiere at the EICMA 2024.
The leaked image from the show floor at EICMA 2024 reveals the overall styling of the Classic 650, which is heavily inspired by the Classic 350. The newest member in the 650cc range of motorcycles in Royal Enfield’s portfolio borrows the circular LED headlamp, mudguard and fuel tank from its younger sibling, the Classic 350. These elements were also seen on test units spotted near the brand’s factory in Chennai.
The only big cosmetic difference in comparison to the Classic 350 is the dual pea-shooter exhaust muffler. The motorcycle leaked in the image has a black and chrome paint scheme, which was hugely popular with the phased-out Royal Enfield Classic 500. We strongly believe that the company will revive a few colour choices from the older Classic 500 for the Classic 650.

Mechanically, Royal Enfield Classic 650 will be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine which generates maximum power of 47 bhp at 7250 rpm and peak torque of 52.3 Nm at 5650 rpm. It is not confirmed yet whether the engine will be re-tuned for the Classic 650 or if it will deliver the same power and torque performance. It will be available with the 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.
While styling is a direct lift-off from the Classic 350, barring a couple of elements, the chassis, the suspension setup and the braking components have been shared with the Interceptor 650. As for features, it will come with an analogue speedometer with odometer, trip meter and fuel gauge. It could boast of the tripper navigation pod as an optional feature.

Royal Enfield Classic 650, in all likelihood, will make its public premiere in India at the Motoverse 2024 later this month in Goa alongside the Himalayan 450 Rally and Flying Flea C6. Stay tuned for more updates from the EICMA 2024.
