The all-new Kia Seltos will get a host of revisions inside and out; global debut likely sometime next year
Since its launch in August 2019, the Kia Seltos has significantly impacted the midsize SUV market with its long list of features and modern design. As the brand’s flagship model in terms of sales, the Seltos contributes over 48 per cent of Kia’s total domestic sales. Additionally, it plays a leading role in Kia’s connected car offerings, accounting for 65 per cent of the company’s total connected car sales.
The Seltos brand has completed over five years in the local market and it laid the foundation for the brand quickly rising to fame as the fifth largest car producer in the country. Customer demand for the Seltos has consistently favoured variants with connected car features, making up 57 per cent of all Seltos units sold according to the brand.
The South Korean auto major introduced a mid-life update to the Seltos last year with the addition of a host of new features including Level 2 ADAS technology. Now, first set of spy pictures of the second generation Seltos has appeared on the internet as Kia has begun road tests ahead of the five-seater’s global launch sometime next year.

While the test prototype caught abroad wears heavy black wrap, a big overhaul to the front and rear sections can be noted. It makes a lot of sense as its sibling, the Hyundai Creta, received a big update a few months ago in India. The next-gen Kia Seltos appears to draw design inspiration from the latest EV concepts like the EV5.
But we will have to wait for quite sometime for the test mules to evolve and when they do, the design elements can be deciphered. The headlamps, tail lamps, grille section, bumpers at the front and rear, and the alloy wheels will be brand new. We do expect the existing 1.5L petrol, 1.5L diesel and the 1.5L turbo petrol engines to continue in India.
