2025 KTM 390 Adventure R and Adventure X will be launched on November 14, 2024 in India; get thorough design revisions and a new engine
KTM India has released a teaser video confirming that the new generation 390 Adventure range will be launched domestically sooner than expected. The Austrian manufacturer hosted the global debut of the new 390 Adventure series comprising the Adventure R, SMC R and Enduro R at the 2024 EICMA show in Milan a couple of days ago.
Now, the brand has confirmed that the dual-purpose adventure tourer will be introduced in India on November 14, 2024. The teaser video is a clear indication that the motorcycle in question is the all-new 390 Adventure as it is capable of tackling tough surface conditions such as a desert. For India, the Supermoto and Enduro may not make the cut.
In a similar fashion to the existing range, the new Adventure R will be accompanied by a more affordable Adventure X variant focussing on long-distance touring. KTM also appears to be gearing up to bring its large-capacity motorcycles to India in the near future. Back to the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure R, it gets thorough cosmetic revisions and mechanical updates.

It sports a new design with vertically aligned LED projector headlamps, a tall, clear windscreen, a prominent front beak, and pared-down bodywork leading to a compact tail section. It sits on a newly designed steel trellis frame and is equipped with WP-sourced fully adjustable USD forks up front, complemented by an offset monoshock at the rear.
It rolls on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels with tubed tyres. Stopping power is provided by front and rear disc brakes, supported by a dual-channel ABS system. Feature-rich, the motorcycle boasts a TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, a ride-by-wire throttle, a bi-directional quickshifter, switchable ABS, traction control and more.

Powering the new KTM 390 Adventure R is the same 399cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder DOHC engine found in the latest 390 Duke, mated to a six-speed gearbox. Similar design and mechanical updates could be implemented onto the 250 cc version of the Adventure series in the future in India.
